My Favorite 2010 Christmas Project

These cupcakes were, by far, my favorite Christmas projects this past year. I had such fun making them! The recepients LOVED them. I found these directions on the net. I apologize to the creator of them. I just can't remember where I found them!

This May Be the Last Shoe Post

This could be the last shoe post since I've nearly exhausted all the styles of shoes that I love to make! This one is actually a boot - a Santa Boot. A friend of mine showed me a lovely old, old, old candy container in her fabulous collection that I just HAD to attempt. Of course I'd love to have an original, but have not been able to locate one. I wish I had a better picture so the details show. The top is a Santa Head that I fashioned from clay. I gave him a red flannel hat and a beard made from wool rovings. The container is quite deep so could hold several small treats. These were great fun to make; however, they did take a considerable amount of time.

Still on the Shoe Kick

 

As you can see, I'm still on the "shoe kick" (pun intended!) with this photo. This pic was taken at a show I did last fall. There are two shoe styles here. And as you can see, both styles are great for adding treats to. Some of these contained candies, others were filled with mini manicure sets, some had pedicure sets and some even contained mini office supplies. Somemthing for everyone!

Even More Shoes

This is yet another style of shoe I love to make. This is actually the first style I ever attempted and have been making them for a couple of years now. They look adorable on a feather tree. I made one for each of the ladies in my church circle. Both my daughters in law have a tree full as does my mother and my sister in law. I have also made them in all white with heavy glitter for wedding package toppers. I always attach a small label, which you cannot see in this pic, which holds a Bible verse. The verses are different, but always having to do with walking with God. These are a great way to use up lots of little scraps. Happy Crafting!

More Shoes

Well, boots actually. These boots were great fun to make. They are actually papier mache boots I bought online and then glittered. They are perfect for filling with candies or other small treats.

Treat Cones

 
Some more of the treat boxes along with some paper cones that I had a great time making. I love, love, love crepe paper! And I also love, love, love Halloween! The two go so well together, don't you think?

 
Here's a close-up of one of the treat boxes. A spooky glittery spider. This was actually a punch, and I simply punched it from glitter paper. I had great fun with punches on this project.

 

Now I know it's waaaay past Halloween, but like I said, getting my blog up and going has inspired me to post some older photos of things I made, maybe not quite so recently. Although doesn't Halloween seem as though it was yesterday?! These are little treat boxes/drawers that I made using a Stampin' Up die that I love! I've made these little boxes as favors for Christmas, Halloween, Birthdays, Showers, anything you can imagine. They lend themselves to "dressing up" very well! And of course the best part - they will hold two mini bars of candy! This is a batch I made for a dear lady in Florida. She is an avid Girl Scout worker, and she gave these to her troop at their annual Halloween party. Wouldn't you love a girl scout leader like her?!

Tear Puppy

 
So now I have my blog set up. It has inspired me to look through my photos for projects I have made and loved. I found this little puppy and it reminded that this is really what began my "paper travels". I used to sell these on ebay and always loved making them. They each have their own little personalities. They are called "tear dogs", and they actually were a spin off on the original little "tear bears" that were all the rage a few years back.

I just can't seem to let go of Easter. I just love that Holiday! This is another card I made in honor of that great holiday. This is the one I gave my parents. It is a sweet little sitting Tilda. She's in the midst of a basket filled with colored eggs. She is stamped with Tuxedo black and colored with Copics. I cut her out and "popped" her up in the basket full of eggs which are also colored with Copics and then stickled a little. These pieces were placed atop a Spellbinders scalloped circle which was sat on a Spellbinders label. Everything is popped and placed on a background of My Mind's Eye Home. This is a beautiful 12 x 12 glittered paper pad. For the sentiment, I stamped Happy Easter using my Just Rite stamper, then cut with a Spellbinders Petite Oval. Then matted that onto a larger oval (popped of course). This card was lots of fun to make!

This is one of the cards I made for Easter giving. I gave this one to my son and his family. (Since I've been photographing "blog material" for many months now, it may take a few posts for me to catch up to the proper season!) The paper is from a Rusty Pickle set that has been in my stash for about 2 years now! The bunny, SU, was stamped in a rich brown and embossed, then decorated with a beautiful little silk bow which I made using my Bow Easy. The bunny was then "popped" onto a Spellbinders Rectangle which was in turn "popped" onto a Spellbinders Scalloped Rectangle. The scalloped border was made using a new EK punch which scallops and embosses, topped by a Spellbinders Fancy Tag beribboned with more of the great silk. The sentiment is SU. All this was mounted on an ivory base. This card was such fun to make! I love the chocolate bunny. He looks like a real one!

Easter

My first post! I am a great reader of blogs; however, I am not experienced at actually blogging. I've been working on this for more time than I care to admit, but finally I have a post and a pic to share as well! These are the "Easter Baskets" I made for my grandchildren. They are simple papier mache boxes embellished with beautiful papers, glitters, crepe paper, easter grass and a cute little rabbit and chick. I filled them with goodies, and the kids loved them! I hope my blogging as well as my photography improve with practice!
